Systems-on-Chip (SOC) is a kind of an Application - Specific Integrated Circuit(ASIC).It includes a processor, a bus, and other elements on a single monolithic substrate.It is the combination of Analog and Digital.In a single chip it consists of a Microcontroller, Microprocessor or DSP cores and peripherals like USB,PCI,RAM, and Ethernet.It also includes Analog interfaces like ADCs and DACs.In the Single chip this all integrates with each other.The SOC reduces the cost,size,reduces power consumption of the system.It increases the speed of the system. It consists of millions of Transistors inside the system. The complexity of the SOC can control by the Software and Hardware.
